Estrogen reduces breat cancer risk-05/17/2012
Estrogen probably actually reduces the risk of breast cancer in menopausal women.  We've been saying it for years, but the evidence has finally been published in the most recent issue of the Lancet Oncology Journal. This is great news because long-term hormone replacement has so many other benefits that the risks of breast cancer seem to be the most serious concern. This research showed that synthetic progesterone may have played a major role in increasing cancer. Natural bioidentical, progesterone, on the other hand, may decrease the risk of breast cancer.

It should come as no great surprise that the hype over the bird flu, was entirely over-the-top. Instead of a death rate of 59% latest research reveals that the death rate is below 1%. These new statistics shouldn't surprise anyone familiar with this or has been monitoring what accompanies any discussion of Flu viruses.  The greater concern is the corruption that surrounds the scientific and governmental institutions that propagate this kind of nonsense with no apparent end in sight.

Healthy Testosterone Levels Improve Weight Loss Results! - James J. Mahoney DO-12/20/2011
There is a study out of Dubai that shows that testosterone replacement in men produced improved weight loss outcomes.  This study supports lots of previous research that shows that good testosterone levels reduce mortality from all causes in men.  If you concerned about living a long life you'll want to consider testosterone levels and getting them checked and then getting it replaced if you need it! It's really easy with pellets, creams or as in the study with injections.  Bioidentical is always best!

Is Wal Mart Medicine a Good Thing? - James J. Mahoney DO-12/01/2011
The Pacific Research Institute has just released a piece that describes the positive impact that WalMart will make to primary care medicine.  Many of my colleagues would argue with that, but it is my express opinion that the free market is the solution to the medical problem in the United States today. Retail clinics at Wal-Mart, provide service to people that generally don't have a regular doctor. Nurse practitioners and physician's assistants treat simple problems for the most part, including sore throats, sinus infections, and  minor scrapes bumps. In our office we frequently tell patients that it probably would be a good idea if they have minor problems to go see their local Quick Clinic or RediMed if they really just want a prescription for antibiotics.  We may be ahead of the pack, but we tend to see patients who have more complicated issues that need to be seen by someone with 20 or 30 years experience. I personally think we need to try every free market approach before we allow the government to dictate our health choices.  If you asked me to choose between WalMart or ObamaCare, I'll go with the organization with the experience in providing low-cost options and excellent customer service.
